Hello everyone! My name is Chris Egbert. My hometown is Salt Lake City Utah and I have been a local to Texas since 2013. Ever since I moved to Texas I have been in love with the culture and communities. There’s always something special about paying a visit to the historic areas of Fort Worth including the stockyards and cultural districts. I was raised in Utah and went to work in the construction industry at a very young age. Work ethic and drive were the two best qualities that are instilled me that I cherish the most. I specialized in natural stonework, masonry, patios, water features, cedar covers, outdoor lighting and large commercial landscaping projects. I remember mining stone at Kennecott Copper mine with an excavator and a dump truck only to cut and install each stone perfectly at Daybreak in South Jordan Utah that included miles of double-sided natural stone walls. Paying Attention to detail and tedious work has always been my strong suit. I went on to study further in college and went to Utah valley university to earn my associates degree in automotive technology during the electric vehicle introduction and the natural gas conversion boom. I worked for a while as a mechanic in Utah before making the leap to Texas.

Moving to Texas from Utah was a cultural shock for me in the beginning. The southern hospitality wasn’t something I was used to but love it and have learned to practice it myself. I moved here with my spouse and my two children in 2013. I have a 7-year-old boy that loves to ride his bike, play Minecraft and go fishing with his dad. My daughter is a pre-teen, so she’s mostly interested in the trending fashions and the middle school status quo. They where both raised to enjoy and appreciate the outdoors including camping trips, Fishing trips, and guided tours for trophy cats on Tawakoni or stripers on Lake Tacoma.

I like to say “working with Excel Construction group” because it has never felt like working for someone but rather as a team to obtain the same goals. I started out in roofing sales in 2017 and I sold residential roofing for a year. I had picked up Spanish as a secondary language fluently from my landscaping days, so I applied that in a quality control position for the company as well. Excel promoted me to a leadership position as a consultant manager and ran a successful sales team that always focused on company culture and the customer experience. I continued to grow along side with the company and ran the largest division in Watauga TX for a couple of years as a Divisional Manager. I have since evolved into a regional manager role that oversees a few locations local to the DFW and surrounding markets. I have further expanded my knowledge beyond commercial and residential roofing and construction to Water damage restoration technician and structural drying certifications. My journey with this company has forced a lot of personal growth but the most important thing I have learned is that helping others become successful and watching them grow is my ultimate success story.
